Water Treading Area at Vitalpark
A refreshing dip in an idyllic setting
Water treading, like healthy walking on barefoot trails, is one of the traditional health-promoting practices. In the climatic health resort of Bad Sachsa, you can walk in the natural gravel bed of the water treading facility at the Vitalpark in the cold water. Water treading promotes arterial blood flow, prevents varicose veins, stimulates circulation, and strengthens the immune system.
Health Tips for Water Treading
When wading in water, follow this rule: You should wade through the water with warm feet using the “stork walk,” repeatedly lifting one calf—with the toes pointed downward—briefly out of the water. Just two minutes of wading is enough to stimulate circulation through the transition from warm to cold. After the water walk, do not dry your feet; instead, warm them up by walking on the grass. Take a few steps barefoot in the Vitalpark or on the barefoot trail.
In many places, the water-treading season begins in April and is also known as “Anwassern.” Water treading promotes a healthy lifestyle and daily balance. An evening walk can even help you sleep better.
