How to Get to Your Vacation Destination, Bad Sachsa

You can reach Bad Sachsa easily and conveniently by car or by public transportation. The Bad Sachsa Tourist Information Office has all the bus and train information you need, as well as schedules and event tickets.

Directions by car

If you’re travelling from the north of Germany, the best way to reach the climatic health resort of Bad Sachsa is via the A7 motorway. Take the Seesen/Harz exit and then follow the B 243 to the exit for Bad Sachsa.

Coming from the south, the easiest way to reach the Southern Harz is via the A38. Near Nordhausen, leave the motorway at the Großwechsungen junction and then follow the B 243 north-westwards to the exit for Bad Sachsa.

How to get there by public transport

The RB 80 regional train service runs to Bad Sachsa. Holidaymakers from the north and west can take the ICE to Göttingen or Hanover, change there onto the Metronom to Northeim, and then take the RB 80 train from Northeim to Bad Sachsa.

We recommend that holidaymakers from southern Germany travel to Göttingen and then continue as described. Trains from Northeim to Bad Sachsa run hourly.

For visitors from eastern Germany, the easiest option is to take the train to Nordhausen and then take the RB 80 to Bad Sachsa. Trains also depart hourly from Nordhausen.

The station in Bad Sachsa is about 2 km from the town centre. From here, you can take a VSN bus into the town centre.

FlixBus

You can buy FlixBus tickets directly from the Tourist Information Centre in Bad Sachsa.

You can easily explore Europe from Göttingen or Sangerhausen, for example; there are connections to Hanover, Hamburg and Amsterdam, amongst other destinations.

FlixBus is a long-distance coach operator based in Germany. It operates a Europe-wide route network, connecting cities in Germany and across Europe.

Electric charging points

In Bad Sachsa, you’ll find a total of two electric charging points where you can charge your electric car or e-bike. The charging points are provided by Stadtwerke Bad Sachsa GmbH.

Right in the town centre on Marktstraße. Here you’ll find two charging panels, each with one Type 2 socket and one SCHUKO socket.
In the car park of the Aldi discount supermarket; access from the rear via Ringstraße. This charging station is operated by EnBW. There are two charging points available, with a power output of up to 150 kilowatts and the standard connectors. 100 per cent green electricity is supplied.
On Hindenburgstraße, by the “Normaluhr”, there are two charging points (40 kW) – depending on whether one or both charging points are in operation.
At the ECO-Lodges in Borntal, Straße des 20. Juli No. 1, there are four charging points, each with 22 kW per station.

Motorhome pitches

Since 2025, there has been a new motorhome site at the Schützenplatz in Ostertal, Bad Sachsa. The operator, Camping-Car Park, offers 22 pitches here.
