Die kleine, historische Talsperre in Steina ist ein reizvoller Ort für Naturliebhaber. Das Naturdenkmal liegt eingebettet in einen dichten Mischwald und lädt zum Verweilen und Erkunden ein.

Historische Steinsäge
Die Steinsäge steht auf dem Kirchplatz, um an den Abbau und die Verarbeitung des Harzer Dolomits in Steina zu erinnern. Das Sägeblatt der „Historischen Steinsäge“ hat einen Durchmesser von mehr als 2 Metern. Große Dolomit-Steinblöcke, die im Steinbruch gebrochen wurden, konnten mit dieser imposanten Steinsäge weiterverarbeitet werden.

Das Glasmuseum Steina präsentiert historische Glaskunst aus dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert und bietet Einblicke in die Waldglashüttenzeit.

From Steina, it’s worth taking a hike up Ravensberg. The trail leads uphill through the forest. From the summit, you can enjoy the view—all the way to Bad Lauterberg, as far as the Brocken, and into the Harz foothills.

Hike to Wiesenbeker Pond

From Steina, you can reach the Wiesenbeker Pond via the “Hohe Tür.” Past the Steinatal Dam, the trail goes uphill for a bit and then downhill, past the Harz Hiking Badge stamp station, to the Wiesenbeker Pond. From there, you can continue hiking all the way to Bad Lauterberg.
